ImageIt's a great week to be a geek.  This week features a movie replete with videogame references, the best science fiction show on the air today and the tale of one of the most brilliant minds of all time.
Scott Pilgrim vs the World

This little romantic comedy filled with videogame and pop-culture references for a younger generation has been held up there with 'Inception' and 'Toy Story 3' as one of the best movies of the year.  If you didn't see it – based on the box office numbers you probably didn't – now is the time.  It's visually stunning, full of humor, heart and style.

Doctor Who: The Complete Fifth Series

Without much in the way off good sci-fi on American shores, the reboot of 'Doctor Who' has become a favorite on both sides of the Atlantic.  The fifth season of the new series of 'Doctor Who' introduces Matt Smith as The Doctor and Karen Gillan as his companion.  If you're new to the series, it's a great time to jump in, since every new Doctor is a bit of a fresh start.

Sherlock: Season One

Another BBC show hits Blu-ray this week and it's a big one.  'Sherlock,' as you might imagine, follows the adventures of Sherlock Holmes.   There's a bit of a twist in that it takes place in the modern day, but the show is absolutely brilliant.  The show stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman – the of 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' and the British version of 'The Office' – as Doctor Watson.  You'll also recognize Freeman as the man who just got cast as Bilbo Baggins in 'The Hobbit.'
