Everyone's got a list of movies they haven't gotten around to picking up yet. You know, the stuff you missed, but still intend to add to your collection. This is a good week for that, because there's very little worthwhile coming out.
Dexter: The Complete Fourth Season
'Dexter' is one of the shows that really put Showtime back on the map. Along with 'Weeds,' 'Californication' and others, it's made Showtime a must-have channel. The hugely dramatic conclusion to season 4 was the most popular episode to date. If you've never seen the show, or want to start from the beginning, a box set of the first four seasons is also available.
DOA: Dead or Alive
There are movies that are so bad that they're unwatchable and then there are those flicks you can pick up and laugh at with your friends. This is the latter. 'DOA' is very loosely based on the videogame series of the same name, and excels at the bad joke, poorly paced action sequence and broad characterization. It's worth renting if you're up for a laugh. Furry Vengeance
This one's at the opposite end of the spectrum. It's just plain horribly unwatchably bad. Out of the fifteen top critics on Rotten Tomatoes, it didn't have a single good review. It's the kind of movie that just might be an inside joke, with Brendan Frasier trying to make the worst movie ever as a Kaufmanesque prank on his audience.
