Panamax
has introduced the MAX 5510-Pro, the newest addition to its custom
installation-centered PRO Series. Tailored specifically for home
theater system installers who need a high-end power conditioner that
works with advanced home automation systems, the MAX 5510-Pro features
an RS-232 interface for home automation system compatibility, along
with selectable Isolated or Balanced Power output.
The MAX 5510-Pro is designed to improve system performance and
distribute clean and safe power to home theater equipment in an
automated home. Its RS-232 interface controls the power state of
connected equipment, and allows for programming power cycles on
components like satellite receivers, which may lock up after
downloading software updates. The selectable Balanced/Isolated power
modes allow the installer to match the unit’s noise filtration &
conditioning to the specific needs of an installation. Meter lighting is controlled by a front-panel push button which cycles between Low Amber, High Amber, Low Blue, High Blue and Off. A 12-volt-in trigger, combined with time-delay AC outlet capability, controls start-up and shut-down of amplifiers, and avoids damage to partner components like speakers. A 12-Volt-out trigger, generated by the M5510-Pro, enables combined automation functions and facilitates one-button system operation by initiating appliances like automated screens, lifts, and draperies. In addition, the MAX 5510-Pro features isolation between outlet banks and noise filtration both at input and bi-directionally between interconnected components. The MAX 5510-Pro is scheduled to ship in January 2005 and has a retail price of $1499. |
