It touches upon big stuff, such as God, the afterlife, relationships and various other moral dilemmas. Then again, Rundgren has never been one to shy away from addressing big topics through his music. And the biggest subject of all here concerns discovering the truth – in all its various manifestations.

It doesn’t take too many trips to or the local Tower Records to realize that there just aren’t that many great-sounding titles mixed for DVD-Audio or SACD that really put your system to the test. Sure, there is Dark Side of the Moon on SACD, Yes’ Fragile on DVD-Audio and a good number of other discs, but on a week in and week out basis, a disc that can really light up your system is hard to come by. The Crystal Method’s Legion of Boom need to immediately get added to that short list of great-sounding discs.

Brides of Destruction - Here Come the Brides artist: Brides of Destruction This title is not currently available on Amazon album: Here Comes the Brides format: DVD-Audio label: Silverline Records release year: 2004 performance: 2 sound: 3 special features: Shut the F**k Up music video; band interview; onscreen lyrics; weblinks reviewed by: Jeff Fish How do I start this review? Ah, I know: this album sucks! It’s hard to imagine an album being more of a waste of time than this one. I wish I had the time back I used to listen to this album. Seems like all of the Brides of Destruction wish they were still 15 years old again and full of piss and vinegar. While the musicianship on this album isn’t all that bad, the vibe is just totally ridiculous.

With their blend of rock, blues and jazz, they quickly became known for great live performances and a string of outstanding albums. Crimes of Passion continues this string of outstanding albums, with much of the credit going to the songwriting this time around. Todd Park Mohr deserves most of the praise with this release, though. He wrote, recorded, produced and mixed this album. But that is not all: he also designed the album’s graphics and shot some of the photos, as well as doing all the paintings which appear for each song on this DVD-A. My only question for him is, when does he ...

Styx - Cyclorama artist: Styx This title not currently available on Amazon. album: Cyclorama format: DVD-Audio label: Silverline Entertainment release year: 2004 performance: 7 sound 7 reviewed by: Bryan Dailey When bands that are staples of classic ‘70s rock radio make albums in the year 2004, it’s very hard to listen objectively. Most people, myself included, know Styx best from their epic hit song “Come Sail Away” and a few other radio hits, including “Fooling Yourself” and “Mr. Robato.” Their progressive sound, with thick-layered vocals and grandiose piano parts, is still intact many years later on their latest album Cyclorama.
