The iPad is a very cool device that's got plenty of practical applications.  Sure, you can play games and check your Facebook page, but it's capable of so much more.  Home automation especially benefits from the iPad's capabilities, and Savant has definitely recognized the need for a slick way to integrate the device.  To that end, they've created a pair of docking stations for the iPad.

The iPad may not be the most practical thing to use for eBooks or music, and as a network media viewer, it doesn’t offer much advantage over a netbook.  As an automation controller though, there’s a lot of potential.
