Logitech Rolling out a New Squeezebox
Logitech is following up on their last Wi-Fi music solution (the Logitech Boom) with the upcoming release of the Squeezebox Radio.  It connects up to your home network and accesses various internet radio services as well as music kept on network drives.  Sound is provided by a ¾” soft dome tweeter and a 3” long throw woofer which Logitech says have minimal distortion.

Special Apple Event September 9th Could Be New iPod Announcement
Apple has sent out invitations sporting the iPod synonymous dancing silhouette figure for what they refer to as a “special event” to members of the media.  Taking place in San Francisco on September 9th, this event will almost certainly relate to Apple’s iPod line of MP3 players.  Perhaps not coincidentally, September 9th is also the first day of the CEDIA Expo in Atlanta.

Sony’s New Walkman MP3 Player Lineup Announced
Those from a certain generation will remember fondly the memory of sitting by the radio with a tape recorder in order to capture that one song you just had to have.  You may be glad to know that, thanks to Sony’s new Walkman line, those days need not die yet.

Russound Shows E-Series Upgrades
Russound’s multi room audio system is getting a few upgrades, including their first handheld controller for the E-series.  The upgrades begin of course with the ACA-E5 multi room amplifier/controller.  RDS is added to the AM/FM tuner, and the capability to control functions for multiple zones at once makes things a bit more convenient.

Olive Rolls Out the new Opus No. 4
Olive has upgraded their flagship Opus No. 4 to include two terabytes of storage.  It can hold thousands of CDs and plays them in ultra high-quality audio – full CD fidelity – as opposed to reduced-quality MP3 format.
