Warner Music Vision has just announced the October 13, 2003 multi-channel DVD-Audio release of Led Zeppelin's live album 'How The West Was Won'. As well as having Advanced Resolution Multi-Channel Surround Sound, this 2-disc DVD-Audio album offers the original 18 tracks in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo. Containing two and a half hours of live rock, 'How The West Was Won' contains performances recorded during two concerts at the Los Angeles Forum and Long Beach Arena on June 25th and June 27th 1972 - respectively. These recordings were produced by Jimmy Page as were all of the classic LED ZEPPELIN albums. Exclusive color photos of the group performing live on stage introduce each track. There are also options to choose between 5.1 Surround Sound and Stereo playback, and to either explore the playlist or to simply enjoy the show. A source inside a large record label tells that WEA (Warner Brothers, Elektra and Atlantic Records) consultant David Dorn recently met with independent record retailers in New York to talk about the future of prerecorded media. According to sources, Dorn is purported to have told the group of retailers that WEA plans to ship a significant number of DVD-Audio only titles this fall with working “Dual Disc” CD-DVD-Audio discs being widely available as soon as December 2003. Dorn repeatedly refused to either confirm or deny the story Wednesday when he was reached during a business trip to New York. Other WEA executives were contacted, but they have not returned phone calls prior to publication.

Warner Music Vision has just announces the August 25, 2003 U.K. release of the classic Frank Sinatra live album, Live At The Sands and Chicago V, which contains the hit singles "Saturday In The Park" and "Dialogue." 'Live At The Sands' was originally recorded in 1966 at the Sands Hotel, Las Vegas, according to many critics. This album remains the definitive way to experience Frank Sinatra live and it should be even better in DVD-A.
