When Fraser Claughton, a 41 year old car insurance underwriter from Tinkerton, England, purchased a ratty suitcase in an Australian flea market, he received much more than he bargained for. Inside the suitcase, which Claughton paid roughly $36 for, were old photos of The Beatles, concert programs and tapes labeled “Abbey Road…not for release.” The tapes contain over four hours of new song versions and new session recordings. On the tapes are new versions of “We Can Work It Out” and “Cry Baby Cry” as well as a new song, “I’m in Love.” The new song was never released by The Beatles, but was released by another band from Liverpool - The Fourmost. Executives at Apple, The Beatle’s record label, have yet to listen to all of the new material to authenticate it.

David Bowie, perhaps best known for his music and persona of Ziggy Stardust in the 70s, underwent emergency heart surgery for a blocked artery last month. He is now recovering and hopeful that he will return to work next month. Bowie, currently 57, went to a German hospital on June 25 during his European tour, after complaining of a pinched nerve. Angioplasty was performed, and Bowie was released from the clinic this week. Currently he is recovering at home.

Major news sources such as CNN and the AP reported that R&B singer and multi-platinum recording artist, Jennifer Lopez has married popular salsa singer Marc Anthony. This powerful musical super-couple is born just five months after J-Lo, as she is known, parted ways with actor Ben Affleck after a long and highly publicized engagement. Her beau right before Affleck, pop icon and super producer, P-Diddy (Sean Combs) was the big relationship that the paparazzi really first picked up on in a big way.

Legendary singer, Ray Charles, died yesterday at his home in Beverly Hills from complications from liver disease. Charles is best known for tunes like "Hit The Road Jack" and "Georgia On My Mind" also sang on "We Are The World" as well as earning 12 Grammy awards. A performer who Frank Sinatra labeled a "genius" also received accolades from the likes of Aretha Franklin, James Brown and others yesterday. Perhaps his most important musical legacy is his gravely rendition of "America The Beautiful" which serves as an excellent alternative to the often overplayed "Star-Spangled Banner"
