The folks over at Netflix have gone through a lot of changes in the last few months. They switched up their pricing plan which infuriated some and then they lost Starz, which is disappointing many others. Despite a few downturns, this week will certainly be a huge one for the service. Netflix is going to be launching in Latin America. To be more precise, Netflix is launching in 43 countries including Brazil and Mexico. Argentina too, because Netflix doesn't want any crying.
Some technologies propagate a bit faster than others. We're still waiting for large scale OLED sets at a reasonable price - and we'll probably just keep on waiting - but glasses-free TV is already here. Or it will be in December anyway. Toshiba's upcoming 55 inch set will allow you to enjoy the 3D experience without having to wear glasses, which is a feat that may really turn some heads. We’ve been consistently impressed with Samsung’s high-end TVs. This year’s 8000 models are especially slick, with crazy thin bezels and outstanding pictures. That’s nice and all, but it doesn’t matter unless all of that turns into sales. Samsung has been losing sales over the last year or so, resulting in an atrocious second quarter. The whole flat-panel market is a bit rough right now and Samsung has announced cuts in TV production, just like LG before them.

We've heard a lot of rumors about Apple's next move when it comes to TV and Movies, but Apple has made a move that may be an indicator of what's going to happen next. They've pulled TV episode rentals from iTunes. It may not seem like a big deal at first. After all, Apple says that the reason behind the pull is that very few people actually rent TV shows - a majority of people prefer to buy them. But of course, this could be the lead-up to something entirely different.
