The results are in, and several of Denon’s receivers have been approved by Microsoft as Windows 7 compatible.  Microsoft put the receivers through a series of tests for not only compatibility, but reliability as well. The AVR-4310CI, AVR-3310CI, and AVR-990 have all passed certification. So has the new 9.3 channel multi-zone AVR-4810CI.

If you’re a fan of high end audio gear, you’re pretty much required to be a fan of wood-grain or gloss black finishes.  Sure, black is a versatile color. But if you’re going to spend $20,000 on a pair of speakers, it’d be nice to have something you really like the look of.

The TX-SR608 is Onkyo’s first THX Certified entry into the world of 3D and it’s the leading receiver among three that were announced today.   All of Onkyo’s new receivers, and even their HTiBs, can decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio bitstreams, but only the 608 delivers THX certified 7.2 channel sound.

Samsung’s got quite a few sets coming out this year.  Each of the three flavors (LED backlit LCD, CCFL backlit LCD and plasma) of televisions will be getting 3D models, and each offers at least one set that’ll work with that slick new touchscreen remote.
