Streaming television is coming to the Xbox 360, with Kinect integration for searches and more.  When the Xbox 360 was first launched, one of the rumors about its future capabilities included use as a tuner or DVR, but the closest we got was Netflix streaming.  Now it seems that those initial rumors are coming true, even if it's in a slightly different way that we expected.

The latest app from Samsung is one that's incredibly cool - at least if you own a 2011 Samsung Smart TV and a Samsung Galaxy S II. Smart View is a free download that allows you to watch whatever's happening on your TV on your phone over Wi-Fi.  That's not limited to Smart TV applications either.  You can watch Blu-rays, live television, or even videogames - anything that's hooked up to your set.

The TH-NR1009 is the latest receiver to come from Onkyo, and it's a doosie.  Not only does it pack the things you'd expect from a high-end receiver, but it's also the first to offer DTS Neo:X, a technology that allows a maximum of flexibility in your speaker setup.  First of all, it upconverts 2.0, 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 channel audio to 9.1 or 11.1 channel audio.  That's not all though - you can choose to add extra surrounds in the back for ambience, in the back and front for an expanded soundstage, or even add front height and width speakers.

There's nothing wrong with trying to do something exciting and new when it comes to disc packaging, but it doesn't always work out quite right. We've seen plenty of strangely shaped boxes and even a 'Back to the Future' Blu-ray set with packaging so bad it required instructions. The latest fiasco stems from the packaging for the Stanley Kubrick box set.  When pulling a disc out of the sleeve that it's stored in, you'll meet a bit of resistance and have to apply a fair deal of force to get it out.   While several videos and reviews mentioned the packaging as being a pain, some people are reporting damaged discs.

Though 3D television has been kicking off with a great deal of hype, there's a bit of a problem when it comes to the viewing of 3D content from your cable or satellite provider. The picture may look good, but it's not Full HD 1080p.  What you're getting from your cable company is a pair of 1080i images - one for your right eye and one for your left.  Japan Broadcasting Company (NHK) wants 1080p for both.  They can make it happen too, but it's a little bit complicated.

The Theos is the newest addition to MartinLogan's acclaimed speaker line, and the most affordable hand-built electrostatic speaker they have.  Don't confuse affordable with cheap though - the Theos takes a lot from the CLX loudspeaker and introduces not only greater visual transparency but a better bass response than in previous MartinLogan models.

When most companies talk home theater, they put emphasis on the word "home."  They're all about making a compact, nice looking set of speakers that will provide you with some decent sound while not fundamentally changing the look of your room.  Wilson Audio puts the emphasis on the word "theater."  That's evident from products like the brand new Watch Center Series 3 speaker, which combines some of the finest parts of Wilson's other speakers into one impressive center channel package.
