Just months after a similar announcement from AMC, Hollywood Theaters has made a deal with Sony to get on the digital conversion train. At thirteen U.S. locations, a total of 167 screens will be equipped with Sony 4K projectors. In addition to the 4K projectors being installed will be a total of 53 projectors capable of 3D projection with RealD 3D support.
Streaming media through a home network is a fantastic way to watch videos and listen to music, unless you don’t have the network to support it. With HD files becoming much more commonplace, the problem of bandwidth increases, and many home networks just can’t handle it. Christmas comes early for PlayStation 3 owners, with the addition of the much beloved Netflix streaming service. OLED hasn’t even reached the mass market, but the Texas based Uni-Pixel company boats that their TMOS displays, which they’re manufacturing the film for now, offer better performance than current CRT, LCD and even OLED displays. The new TMOS (Time-Multiplexed Optical Shutter) technology works on the same principal as DLP technology.
