DVDO has announced the release of the iScan VP30 – the company’s third-generation high-resolution video processor and AV switcher for up, down and cross-converting any video source. The processor uses Anchor Bay Technologies’ Precision Video Scaling II technology with 10-bit scaling, non-linear scaling and sharpness controls. Its analog transcoding and HD processing allows the VP30 to output current and legacy video sources to any resolution between 480p and 1080p with preset output resolutions for plasmas, LCD, DLP. LCOS and CRT displays.

The iScan VP30 features four HDMI inputs. Among the hub’s other inputs are two Component, two S-Video, two Composite and one RGBHV input (an SD-SDI input is optional). Each input has a separate picture control so the user can set a different parameter for each input to get the best picture from every source. The processor gives users options for fitting and viewing an image on their display and provides complete pan and zoom capability to position and stretch an image onscreen with overscan, underscan and border controls to eliminate black-bars, filling the whole screen.

Four digital and one analog audio input allows the VP30 to act as an audio switcher and router too. The inputs can be assigned to any of the video inputs to allow one button switching of audio and video together. The Precision A/V Lipsync technology featured in the processor also eliminates any audio/video delays.

The iScan VP30 will be available in the fall at a suggested price of $1,999.
