Universal
Home Entertainment has announced that they will be dropping the retail
prices of HD DVD titles from their studio by $5.
Current Universal HD DVD titles are being released at a retail price of $34.95. The new price slash will bring titles down to $29.95. Universal also announced their first two hybrid HD DVD / SD DVD titles, National Lampoon’s Animal House and Unleashed. Both titles are slated for an August 8th release. However, the hybrid titles will not be affected by the price drop and will remain at the $34.95 price. Universal price reductions will go into effect on August 8th. Although, it is probably safe to assume that consumers can already find HD DVD titles cheaper than the future reduced price of $29.95. Source: High-Def DVD Digest |
