Morning Becomes Eclectic (Mon - Fri, 9 am to Noon) has been called “one of the most interesting and influential radio shows in the U.S” by The Wall Street Journal, is hosted by KCRW Music Director, Nic Harcourt. Airplay on Morning Becomes Eclectic has helped launch the careers of Norah Jones, Dido, David Gray, Sigur Ros, Coldplay, Pete Yorn, Damien Rice, and others. Harcourt is the music supervisor for the feature film Dukes of Hazard (Fall 2005) and the author of the forth-coming book, Music Lust: Recommended Listening for Every Mood, Moment and Reason due in Sept. 2005 (Sasquatch Books). Metropolis host Jason Bentley (Mon - Fri, 7:30 to 10pm) mastered electronica music in the early 90’s. Bentley continues to feature cutting-edge dance music and electronica – airplay that has been integral to the success of artists like Portishead, Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Jazzanova, Roni Size, Jamiroquai and Groove Armada. Bentley was a Grammy nominee for the soundtrack of the first Matrix. He music supervised the entire Matrix film series and the AniMatrix video game, as well as the forth-coming feature film Hooligans starring Elijah Wood. KCRW, the number one public radio station in Southern California, has ranked among the top 25 online radio websites worldwide. The 2004 Billboard Digital Entertainment Awards honored KCRW.com with a nomination in the Best Radio Service category competing against commercial entities XM, Live 365 and Launch/Yahoo.
