Program Yourself,
Strictly Rhythm Records Performance 8.5 | Sound 7.5 | The Wamdue Project: Program Yourself is a great example of what is wrong with pop music today. Chris Brann, mastermind behind The Wamdue Project has captured the infectious grove of club music and married it with unique, Jazz and classically inspired influences to create a "rhythm soundscape" that is unlike anything you are currently listening to. Wamdue Project: Program Yourself is not some lame-ass drum-and-bass record, it is a collection of sophisticated, heavily produced songs that are designed to light up your hi-fi. The reviewers here at The Revolution are freaking out over this record. Cuts like "Are You High," "King of My Castle" and "Giraffe" have us all cranking up our reference systems and hearing brand new musical avenues. The recording on Wamdue Project: Program Yourself is very good. The highly inventive music paired with the better-than-average recording makes Wamdue Project: Program Yourself a must have. Period. |
