The first reason for this is simply the music itself. Classics such as Issac Hayes' "Theme From Shaft" and Aretha Franklin's "Something He Can Feel" are impressively interlaced with the theme from 'Cleopatra Jones,' George Benson's "The Greatest Love Of All," and Willie Hutch's "Brother's Gonna Work It Out." The other reason you need this album--as if the music wasn't reason enough--is a mastering job that is, if you'll pardon the pun, masterful. These songs--all recorded in the 1970's--all find a way come alive on a good system and deliver from start to finish. In short, we say, buy this album and stay cool, baby.
