When I was an up-and-coming adolescent I adopted a Tina-ism as my own personal motto and "I'm your private dancer, a dancer for money, do what you want me to do," has served me well ever since. Tina Turner's triumphant return to vinyl was one of the biggest albums of the eighties cementing Tina as not only a recording superstar, but as an international icon. Now, JVC has remastered this album; 'What's Love Got To Do With it?,' 'Better Be Good To Me' remastered, does it get any better? Believe it or not, it does.
Who knows what they had to use to remaster this album, but whatever
it was just wasn't good enough. Normally, JVC's XRCDs are of
outstanding quality and sound impeccable, but this one is entirely
disappointing. It's unfortunate, but--much as it was back then--it's
Tina's voice that will really need to sell you on this one.
