Here, Zombie--sans his old band--has combined superior sonics with agitated rifts and accompanied them with demonic lyrics. The guitar tones are so scorching you often think your speakers could catch fire. The bass is surprisingly hard hitting, even better than the tone you'll find on White Zombie's 'La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 1' and 'Astro-Creep: 2000.' The production value of the record marks a high point for Zombie records, the mix is world class and the addition of techno effects makes the melodies just that much more interesting.

'Hellbilly Deluxe' is a crank it up and rip the knob off your preamp kind of record. As long as you don't take Rob's lyrical content too seriously, you are in for a rockin' good time.
