OK, ready? Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Milt Jackson, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Percy Heath and Kenny Clark. So you ask can an audiophile quality recording have a great performance? Damn straight. Bags Groove has been on perpetual spin at The Audio Revolution since it arrived three weeks ago. I was absolutely stunned to hear how three dimentional Milt Jackson's vibes sounded while reviewing a pair of Wilson CUBs. The entire recording's performance is strong but "Bags Groove (take 2)" and "Doxy" are of special note. The price tag of the XRCD titles are heavy but in this case clearly worth the investment. Bags Groove will likely make your top 10 best sounding Jazz records.
