It's long been speculated that Redbox would add movie tickets to its kiosks, but that's not what's happening here. Instead, Redbox is offering tickets to live events. Initially this idea was tested in Philidelphia, but now it's being rolled out to Los Angeles area Redbox kiosks.
Only one participating event has been announced for California at this time – an upcoming NASCAR race. Redbox expects more in the future, of course. One very interesting thing about these kiosks is that, according to the company, you'll only be paying $1.00 above list price. If that means we don't have to pay ridiculous service fees on top of the ticket price, we'll be happy to drive to the grocery store to pick up our tickets. |
