As it tends to be when a new technology hits, it’s a problem of the chicken and the egg.  People don’t want to buy 4K capable hardware when there’s no content for it, and companies don’t want to make Ultra HD content when no one has a UHD set.  Sony is in a fortunate place in that their company makes not only hardware, but content as well.  Their new XBR-84X900 reflects that, by including content with the TV itself.

According to Ray Hartjen, who blogs for Sony, we’ll be seeing some impressive 4K resolution content out of Sony.  “Not some goofy 4K content shot as a demo,” he writes on the Sony blog.  “I’m talking full length feature Hollywood productions, and available exclusively to purchasers of Sony’s 84” 4K Ultra HD TV.”  There are no specifics yet, but Hartjen says we’ll find out more after Thanksgiving.
