If you missed out on 'Brave' and 'Taken 2' wasn't your style, you'll soon get a chance to see what promises to be an amazing movie that takes full advantage of Dolby's new audio technology.  On December 13th, 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' will be coming to theaters and utilizing Atmos in certain equipped theaters.

Of course, this isn't the only new tech that Peter Jackson is bringing to the table.  A limited number of theaters will also be getting a version of the movie with a frame rate of 48fps as Jackson intended. The big question is whether or not there will be theaters that have both the high frame rate and Atmos sound.  We contacted Dolby who said "At this time we can’t confirm this but it is possible that some Dolby Atmos locations will be equipped with HFR capabilities as well. Stay tuned."  We certainly will.
