The folks at D + M and the people over at McIntosh have parted ways.  In a deal that was announced earlier this week, McIntosh has been sold to an Italian company known as Fine Sounds, who own Sonus Faber, Audio Research, Wadia and Sumiko – all makers of high-end components.  This puts McIntosh in fine company.

It looks like things will be staying generally the same for McIntosh for the time being.  Charlie Randall remains president and the McIntosh brand isn't slated to go through any major changes.  The primary difference will be that McIntosh will now be in a position to share resources with other companies under Fine Sounds, which was lacking at D + M.
