We’re not willing to call off the search yet, but we may have found the single dumbest feature ever to be listed on the back on an HDMI cable box – anti-virus protection.  That’s right, according to the back of the box for an HDMI cable marketed towards Xbox 360 owners, it has “anti-virus protection to reduce virus noises.”  Yeah.  Not only is it absolutely ridiculous to think that viruses are travelling through your HDMI cables, but game consoles don’t get viruses.  It’s a double whammy of dumb.

Ever since the first high-end home theater cable came out there’s been debate about just what spending more on an audio or video cable will do for you.  HDMI kicked that into high due to the entirely digital signal.  This, however, is undebatably  ludicrous.
