When companies release new versions of their old gear, the changes usually aren't that big. You'll see slightly improved performance, a few new parts, or a cool new feature that brings it in line with current tech. The Mark II ClairAudient is different. Instead of a frequency response of 80Hz to 22kHz, the new version goes down to 30Hz. It's a huge change, and one that will certainly be welcome by Audient customers. The 16+16 is a bi-pole speaker with both front and rear radiation. It packs A3-S2 drivers with 6" x 9" aluminum frame passive radiators designed just for these speakers. The 3" driver and large passive radiators do away with the need for crossovers like you'd find in traditional speakers and eliminates the need for a woofer, tweeter and midrange separation. The Mark II ClairAudient is handmade in the US and will be available in a variety of exotic wood finishes for $72,000 a pair. |
