When we talk about streaming music, you might think of the convenience of online services and the wide selection of music available. You also might think of low bitrates and cruddy audio. Dolby and Onkyo hope to change that – at least for Onkyo owners.
Starting this fall in the US, Onkyo's music streaming site, e-onkyo, will be streaming 5.1 channel Dolby TrueHD 5.1, a first for any streaming service. The down side is that there are currently only 100 albums available in Japan where the service has already launched. You'll also be limited in playback to compatible Onkyo receivers.
