Most makers of home theater systems are more concerned about economy than quality and appearance, but Samsung has taken some interesting steps recently that make their home theater in-a-box (HTiB) solutions incredibly interesting even if they’re still of HTiB quality.  The biggest improvement is something you’re not going to find in any similar products – a tube preamp.

Samsung is aiming to provide their customers with a nice warm sound by including the vacuum tube, but it’s an aesthetic choice as well. You can see the tube from the front and top of the unit, which gives it the look of a much more expensive component. Of course, the HT-E6730W does plenty more too, like play 3D Blu-rays, upconvert streaming and DVD video to 1080p and stream content through Smart Hub.  It’s available now for $999.
