Just as it is with televisions, 3D is becoming a standard feature on projectors.  Sharp's latest entry into the projector category is the XV-Z30000, a DLP projector that offers some impressive specs at a reasonable price.  It gives you a contrast ratio of 50,000:1 and 1600 ANSI Lumens brightness, which Sharp says is used more efficiently with its DLP projectors than other technologies.

The XV-Z30000 is flexible to set up.  The lens itself is center mounted and offers not only 2x optical zoom, but both horizontal and vertical shift functions.  You can even adjust the aspect ratio from 16:9 to 2.35:1 for optimal playback.  The XV-Z30000 is due out in March at a price of $4,999 which includes the IR transmitter and two pairs of active shutter 3D glasses.

Looks like a fantastic projector... Probably too much for small rooms though, so
a large lounge area or family room (or even better, a cinema room) would be the
way to go. I'll be interested to see how it compares with the new 3D Epson
PowerLite... everything will be 3D soon. Thanks - Martin
