Vizio Announces a 21:9 CinemaWide 3D TV Line

Widescreen TVs are nice and all, but the aspect ratio is essentially a compromise between 4:3 TV and 2.35:1 theatrical movies.  If you're a dedicated movie buff, those black bars and that smaller picture just doesn't do it. Vizio has announced their solution - a series of 21:9 televisions that fill the screen with your Blu-rays. 

 

 

 

 

           


The 50" and 58" models  offer Razor LED edge lighting that uses smart dimming technology. They have a 120Hz refresh rate and, like the larger TV in the line, utilize passive 3D technology.  Of course, the really exciting release is the 71" set that gives you a 240Hz refresh rate and Full Array TruLED backlighting.  All of Vizio's new CinemaWide TVs offer a 2560 x 1080p resolution and will be hitting retailers this year.  Pricing has not yet been announced.
