The USPS is losing money like crazy and they've been trying hard to think of a way to get back to profitability. They've already announced that layoffs and shutdowns are happening and have even proposed stopping Saturday delivery, but the newest money-saving idea could really turn off customers that subscribe to Netflix and Blockbuster.

The solution: eliminate next-day delivery of First Class mail.  Under the proposed rule, the postal service would have up to three days to deliver.  This means that returning a movie to Netflix could take up to three days and receiving a movie from Netflix could take up to three days.  That's a six day turnaround for your discs - significantly longer than the current setup.  It's almost certainly going to change consumer outlook on services like these.
