Five years ago, Genesis came on the market with their 7-series loudspeakers which impressed reviewers and customers alike.  After that long on the market, CEO Gary Leonard Koh thought it was about time for an update.  "Since we launched the 7-series in 2005, I thought that it was time to update it with new materials and incorporating what we've learned in the past 5 years," he says. The new 7.2 series offers the same ring-ribbon tweeter found in the company's flagship 1.2 loudspeaker.

"As a ring-radiator, it has excellent dispersion and does not beam within its operating range," says Koh. We improved the linearity in its low-end response, and also pushed out the top frequency from 36kHz to 40kHz."The midrange drivers have also been redesigned for greater clarity and dynamics in the mid and bass ranges.  The G7f floorstanding speaker will get down to as low as 22Hz when driven by the right source. The G7f, with its built-in amplified sub, is priced at $8,950.  The G7c convertible - designed for use as an L/C/R speaker - comes in at $3,950 and the G7p petite model runs $2,950.  All of the new speakers from Genesis are available now.
