The PT-AE7000U is a surprising first for Panasonic.  Though the company has been on the forefront of 3D since it first started coming back into theaters - they were instrumental to the creation of 'Avatar' as you may know - this is the first Full HD 3D projector they've released. Of course, the PT-AE7000U is an impressive component.  It offers a contrast ratio of 300,00:1 and 2,000 lumens brightness.  It also boasts a new 200-watt Red-Rich lamp that Panasonic says will insure greater red luminance and a brighter picture overall.

The projector utilizes Overdrive Technology along with a 480Hz LCD panel to create smooth, cross-talk free 3D video.  Its dual-core processing engine is capable of cleaning up both 2D and 3D video as well, which should help to ensure a better picture overall. Panasonic has gone with active technology for their new projector and offers several different models of glasses as well as an IR transmitter to extend the range at which you can use the glasses.  The projector itself will be out in September at a price of $3,499.
