It's been a long time coming, but Spotify has finally launched in the US.  The music streaming service offers instant access to what seems like a limitless library of songs.  The free version of Spotify gives you that instant access, but you'll have to listen to ads from time to time.  It also requires an invitation, which you can sign up for on Spotify.com.  Shelling out $5 a month gets you an ad free experience, but the excitement comes with the Premium service.

For $10 a month you'll be able to play music from Spotify directly to your smartphone.  Not enough?  You'll also be able to play locally stored music on your phone using the Spotify service.  The premium package also includes better sound quality and the ability to reserve a few thousand songs for offline mode.  One thing that really sets Spotify apart from other music services is the massive selection available.  Whether you're looking for the heavy metal videogame cover band Year 200X, the debut album from ukulele player Michael Leviton or a hard to find comedy album from Bruce McCulloch from Kids in the Hall, you'll find it on Spotify.
