The VPL-HW30ES is the latest from Sony and is designed to offer SXRD technology without a hefty price tag. While last year's VW90ES came in at $10,000, the HW30ES will only set you back around $3,700. Sony's VPL-HW30ES boasts a contrast ratio of 70,000:1 and 13,000 Lumens brightness. It also includes a new 3D system that Sony says will have a significant effect on the reduction of crosstalk. Glasses don't come with the projector, but Sony has introduced new lighter 3D glasses for those that want to pick some up. The new 3D glasses - model TDG-PJ1 - come in at around 75 percent of the weight of older models, making them the lightest to come out of Sony to date. They can be charged in just 30 minutes and give you 30 hours worth of viewing. If you want to go 3D, you'll also need the $79 TMR-PJ1 emitter. |
