Now that Netflix has solidified its position as the go-to source for streaming media, they're running into the problem of multiple using the same account at once.  It makes sense of course, especially for families.  Mom is watching something in the living room while Dad wants to watch something else on his iPhone and the kids want to stream on the Xbox.

Netflix is brainstorming some solutions, but the fix won't come overnight.  "The evolution toward individual memberships will take time, and we are still thinking about how to best do it," says Netflix in an FAQ aimed at investors. One option that the company is considering would allow for multiple streams from the same account based on a pricing scheme similar to DVDs.  Two streams at a time would cost a little more, three would up the price further.

The other idea would be to lower the price of Netflix streaming and encourage families to pick up multiple subscriptions.  Two accounts at $4.99 a month, for example, sounds very reasonable. Whatever the solution, Netflix says that it's important to make sure each individual user is accommodated.  "In either case," they say, "our long-term goal is to evolve the Netflix service so that it feels more natural to have a personal account."

What I want to see is that each users device be able to set individual mature
level. Right now its all or nothing with an 8 hour turn around so I set it low
for my kids but want to watch something more adult I cant

A thiny veiled way of saying they want to make more money by charging individual
fees for every person in the home. Anyone who is stupid enough to think that it
is too improve the end user experience really shouldnt breed.
