Now that passive technology 3D televisions are on the market, companies have to do something to keep people interested in their active sets.   Samsung is doing that by eliminating the big talking point that companies like LG have - expensive glasses.

All of Samsung's 2011 3D televisions will be shipping with two pairs of 3D glasses which gives you enough to start enjoying the set right out of the box.  It's a good start, but even better is the significant price drop on extra glasses.

Instead of charging upwards of $100 for additional pairs of glasses, Samsung will be selling its 3D glasses for a mere  $50. The price drop begins on April 24th, and Samsung has high hopes that this change in pricing will help convince 3DTV customers to go with active Samsung sets.
