The wait is over for Samsung's 2011 spring lineup. All of those TVs and Blu-ray players shown off back in January are finally here and will be available on store shelves soon if they're not already. All of Samsung's new Blu-ray players, which start at a price point of $149, feature the ability to access video streaming services and utilize Samsung's One-Foot Connection for simple networking.
Most offer 3D capabilities. The most interesting in the bunch is the BD-7500, which measures in at less than an inch high.Samsung's Plasmas all grew a bit this year, thanks to the Plasma+1 design. Instead of a 50 inch set, you'll get a 51 inch set. It's not a giant difference, but a little more screen and a little less bezel is nothing to scoff at. The higher end plasmas - the 7000 and 8000 series - won't be available until April, but the rest are out now. And of course, what would Samsung be without LED backlit LCD sets? Over 20 new LED backlit sets are hitting shelves this year, and 70 percent of those offer Smart TV capabilities. The highlights, of course, are the 7000 and 8000 line which boast an ultra-thin bezel, 3D capabilities and incredible picture quality. |
