Facebook is a daily, or even hourly visit for its most frequent users.  It's a hub for self-expression and a place to learn about your friends, your favorite websites and more.  Now it's even more than that, since Warner has introduced Facebook movie rentals. You'll need to use Facebook Credits to complete the transaction, but credits can be easily purchased at a rate of 10 credits per one dollar.  Rental of 'The Dark Knight'  costs 30 credits, or three dollars.

The movie isn't in high-definition and it probably doesn't offer you multi-channel surround, but it's a nice easy way to rent a flick and watch it on your computer, laptop, or netbook. It's hard to tell, at least initially, whether this is an instance of a big slow company trying to cash in on a consumer trend or a brilliant forward-thinking move that could help to change the industry.  Honestly, it seems like a little bit of both.

"Making our films available through Facebook is a natural extension of our digital distribution efforts," says Warner's Thomas Gewecke. "It gives consumers a simple, convenient way to access and enjoy our films through the world’s largest social network.
