Back in December of last year, ESPN televised the first 3D NBA game - the Miami Heat vs. the New York Nicks.  Since then they've shown six more games, which isn't a huge number by any stretch of the imagination.  Thankfully, for fans of basketball and 3D, that's all about to change.

ESPN 3D turned into a 24 hour channel on February 14th, and the company knows that new content is what it's going to take to keep it afloat.  Even better than new content, they'll be bringing more live content to ESPN 3D starting with the NBA Finals.

Over the next few months, three more NBA games will be shown in 3D leading up to the Playoffs.  Select playoff games will be shown, the scheduling of which is yet to be determined.  Things go into full swing on June 2nd though, when the NBA finals are shown in 3D.

ESPN says that this is just the beginning, and that you can expect over 100 live events in the first year of ESPN 3D.
