One of the most exciting things about the new age of digital distribution is the variety of ways we're now able to get our content.

Comcast's latest update to the Xfinity app finally adds the much anticipated video on demand feature.  You can watch shows and movies from some of your favorite channels, including BBC America, Cartoon Network, Cinemax, Starz Encore, HBO, MoviePlex, Showtime, Starz, TBS, and TNT.

It's a fairly impressive list, but it's definitely far from complete.  Only those ten networks are currently available and there's no word on when we'll start seeing more.  There's also no word on if and when we'll get to watch live programming on the iPad.

I have had time to play around with the Xfinity app and I wasn't impressed, only
works with WiFi and as you said there is only limited content. So the DISH
Remote Access app from DISH Network seems to be the better choice, WiFi and 3G
which makes a huge difference in accessibility, and I can watch live TV anywhere
in the world. Being a DISH employee I can't see why you would chose anything
else.
