Parasound's 5250 was an impressive amplifier, and the flagship of the company's NewClassic product family.  Now, six years after its initial release, the amplifier is getting an update.

The 5250 v.2 doesn't change what was great about its predecessor.  It's still THX Ultra 2 Certified and it still offers 250 watts per channel across five channels.  It adds plenty though, including adjustable gain for each channel and over 60 improvements to its features and circuitry.

"The NC 5250 v.2 provides a terrific solution for home theater enthusiasts who want great performance but worry about the cost of updating a new top-of-the line surround receiver every few years," says Parasound founder Richard Schramm.

Shramm says that the Parasound 5250 v.2 gives you more freedom in upgrading your receiver.  Instead of buying a new high-end receiver every few years, you can buy a lower-end receiver with all the same features and let the 5250 handle the amplification.

You can pick up the Parasound NewClassic 5250 v.2 at an MSRP of $2,850.
