What Industry Bigwigs Really Think About Netflix

Ever wonder what industry execs say about Netflix when they're operating under the guise of anonymity?  The Hollywood Reporter has a great read that consists of exactly that.

Some are very fond of the service, like a Disney exec who asked to remain nameless in the article.  "What’s not to like?" he asks.  "They’re another buyer, even for stuff that others don’t consider terribly valuable."

He's talking, of course, about shows and movies that Disney owns but can't profit from anywhere else.  Little watched shows aren't practical for a DVD release, but can generate income on Netflix where they may find an audience as well.

Netflix content officer Ted Sandoros had some choice words about television streaming, saying that just the most recent episode isn't the goal.  "I don’t care about last night’s episode," he says. "I do want all of last season’s episodes."
