Japan's first 3D TV series will officially launch on Wednesday, January 19th.  It's not what you might expect though.

Fuji TV's 3D series isn't action packed or digitally animated.  It's not a sport series or even documentary.  It's a drama focusing on air traffic controllers in Tokyo, aptly named 'Tokyo Air Traffic Control Center,' or 'Tokyo Control' for short.

It's a very promising project, and one that will be available to all subscribers to SkyPerfecTV's high definition service - all 391 thousand of them.  Customers that don't own 3D televisions will be able to check out the new show too, since it will be simultaneously shown in 2D.

The show runs for 10 episodes and begins on January 19th.  We'll certainly be interested in seeing what the viewership numbers look like when all is said and done.
