We've been hoping for the opportunity to check out the new glasses-free technology at CES and it looks like LG is giving us that chance.  The company is bringing a portable 3DTV to the show, even if a US launch seems unlikely.

As with many of the exciting new devices coming to CES, there isn't much yet known about the TV.  It handles 3D without the use of glasses and it runs on LG's LG2161R chip.  It sports an antenna for picking up channels and is labeled as a Mobile DTV.

LG has also said that it can handle 3DTV while travelling at 200 km/h, which is a bit of a confusing statistic but is almost certainly aimed at Japanese commuters who ride trains rather than drive.

Though it seems aimed at Japanese consumers, we can certainly hope that the new TV or something very much like it is in the works.
