There are high-end loudspeakers and then there are high-end loudspeakers.  Acapella's latest release - the High Violincello II - is far from affordable, but it's absolutely gorgeous.

The Violincello features a look that's unique to Acapella's speaker line, but that's not the only thing individual to the new loudspeaker.  It boasts a new ion tweeter that Acapella designed specifically for the Violincello.  The company says that their tweeter has no mass and uses ionized air to create sound without a membrane.

The ionizing tweeter can handle frequencies up to 40kHz, so reproduction of precise and accurate sound shouldn't be a problem.  The bronze horn you'll notice on the front acts as a catalyst, to prevent the smell of ozone normally associated with the ionization process.

Acapella's Violincello measures 64 inches high, 19 inches wide and 27 inches deep, weighing in at 308 pounds.  You can get the horn in any color of automotive finish that you like, and each speaker is hand numbered and registered.

You can pick up the Acapella High Violincello II now for a price of $80,500 per pair.
