Parasound is now shipping the first production samples of the much anticipated John Curl designed Halo JC 3 Phono Premplifier. Curl also designed the Vendetta Research SCP2B, which is now legendary as a preamp.
Curl's Vendetta was so good that it was almost magical, but each one was essentially hand made, and would probably cost over $8,000 to build today," explains Parasound founder Richard Schram. "Now, Parasound has a new design that draws from the same creative genius while offering amazingly high performance from each piece we produce." The JC 3 is a dual mono design that utilizes Vampire RCA jacks and Neutrik XLR jacks for the best connection possible. Rather than the toroidal transformer often found in preamps, the JC 3 uses a R-core to keep the preamp noise free. Signal to noise ratio on the JC 3 is 83dB with the MM input and 73dB for the MC. It also boasts a 12v trigger input, AC line polarity reverse and the ability to switch between 115V and 240V power. The JC 3 is available now at a price of $2,350. |
