If you're a fan of BBC programming like 'Doctor Who,' 'Top Gear,' or the reinvention of 'Sherlock Holmes,' then you'll be happy to know that BBC programming will finally be available in the US. You won't have to wait for BBC America to pick it up either.
The BBC has announced that a new subscription version of the BBC iPlayer – sort of like Hulu for the BBC – will be coming to iPads worldwide. No matter where you're from, you'll be able to enjoy BBC content as soon as it's put online. It's a big step towards finally allowing BBC content to be viewed globally, and the iPad is a great place to start. The BBC has not yet announced how much the subscription cost will be. Plans are in place to expand to other devices after the iPad launch, but no specifics have been given. |
