There's something to be said for the subtlety of some high-end loudspeakers, designed to blend into a room.  The folks at Cabasse tend to go the other way with it, and produce high-end speakers that look as good as they sound.

The latest from the company is the new L'Ocean line of speakers, which provide sound levels as high as 117dB with no distortion according to Cabasse.  Each boasts four digital amplifiers in the base which send 1,000 watts to the bass unit, 500 watts each to the low-mid and high-mid drives and 250 watts to the tweeter.

Along with the speakers themselves, you'll get a preamp/controller designed specifically for the L'Ocean loudspeakers.  It offers five digital inputs, four analog inputs and a feature called the Cabasse Room Compensation System that's designed to optimize sound based on your room's acoustics.  The controller connects to the speakers via optical ToSLink.

The L'Ocean speakers will be available in the spring of 2011 at a price of 80,00 Euros, or around $105,000 per pair.
