Things look good this week, with a few solid catalog titles, a decent new movie and the release of a science fiction classic.
The Expendables What happens when almost every big action star of the 90s gets together for one last big blockbuster film? You get an incredibly self-referential, somewhat corny film that still manages to entertain. 'The Expendables' won't make anyone's Oscar list this year, but it's a fun film to watch. Eat Pray Love It's a sibling rivalry on the shelves this week with Eric Roberts of 'The Expendables' against Julia Roberts in 'Eat Pray Love.' This one's a little less fun to watch, and doesn't have nearly as many explosions. Still, for the right audience 'Eat Pray Love' will play very nicely. The Complete Metropolis We've been waiting a long while for the Fritz Lang masterpiece 'Metropolis' to hit Blu-ray. Now it's finally available and it looks like we're in for a treat. The video and audio have been cleaned up as much as you can expect for a film shot over 80 years ago. If you're a diehard sci-fi fan, this is the one you've been waiting for.
